Organisation of Workshop at Eurosun2022 on “Women to advance the global energy transition” in September 2022
Regional and national women in energy networks all over the globe aim to empower women working in the energy sector, to help advance their careers and to make the sector more gender-balanced. Understanding this, the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK) and under the German bilateral energy partnerships, organised a virtual networking event for women energy networks on March 15th 2021 as well as a physical gathering back to back with the Women energize Women conference in Munich in March 2022.
Furthermore, a guide “How to set up a regional/national network of women in sustainable energy” was created to provide guidance to upcoming women’s energy networks on the steps to consider when setting up their initiative, as well as learn from existing networks – and what they are doing in this space.
