The Women in Wind Global Leadership Program 2023

The Women in Wind Global Leadership Program 2023, jointly organised by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), aimed to accelerate women’s careers in the wind industry by equipping them with skills, mentorship, and a global network of support. By supporting women’s pathway to leadership, the program set out to address gender disparity in senior roles and empower emerging leaders to drive innovation in renewable energy.

With the largest cohort to date, this fifth edition of the program welcomed 23 participants from 13 countries, reflecting a commitment to fostering diverse leadership in the wind sector’s emerging markets. Since its inception in 2019, the program has grown significantly, now offering nearly four times the original number of mentee places. The Class of 2023 joins a growing community of policymakers and industry leaders working together to tackle the sector’s most pressing challenges and bring about positive change across the wind value chain.

About Global Wind Energy Council: The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) represents the entire wind energy sector, advocating for sustainable wind power globally. With a diverse membership spanning over 80 countries, GWEC is at the forefront of driving the transition to renewable energy.
