The Women in Wind Global Leadership Programme was launched in April 2019 by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). Its primary objective was to advance the role of women as agents of change in both society and the energy transition while promoting best practices within the wind industry. The programme aimed to accelerate women’s careers, support their pathways to senior leadership positions, and foster a global network of mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment.
The second cohort of the programme ran from April 2020 to January 2021, supporting 15 women from over 13 countries and five continents. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, participants displayed remarkable resilience and adaptability throughout the programme.
