Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in the SADC Region Mentoring Programme

We are proud to launch the first edition of this mentorship programme, dedicated to advancing the careers of women energy professionals from the SADC region. The initiative is led by the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) in collaboration with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

 

The 12-month programme seeks to empower women in junior and middle-management positions as well as to advance their career through mentoring, networking and knowledge development.

GWNET in collaboration with the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is excited to launch the fourth cohort of a mentorship program specifically targeting women in the clean cooking sector in Africa, Asia, and Haiti. Following the success of our 2021, 2022, and 2023 cohort we are thrilled to continue supporting and uplifting women in the clean cooking sector.

To empower women as leaders of change and promote best practices towards gender diversity and inclusion in the energy storage sector, the Secretariat of the Energy Storage Partnership, hosted by the World Bank’s Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), is once again collaborating with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) to launch a mentoring program specifically for women in energy storage.
