GWNET’s 2024 Annual Report

GWNET’s 2024 Annual Report offers a comprehensive insight into our organisation’s activities throughout the past year. The publication also underlines our efforts to advance the careers of women in the energy transition and raise their visibility in what still remains a very male-dominated space.

The report reflects on GWNET’s expanding global reach, mentoring programmes, and the launch of new initiatives promoting women’s leadership in sustainable energy. Some notable highlights from 2024 include:

  • Our network grew to over 4,800 individual and corporate members from more than 150 countries, demonstrating the continued relevance and demand for inclusive energy transitions worldwide.
  • Likewise, another major milestone for our organisation was the launch of the new project, Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in SADC. Implemented by GWNET and SACREEEE, with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency, this initiative is dedicated to uplifting teenage girls and women in Southern Africa’s sustainable energy space.
  • 220 women completed GWNET mentoring programmes. This brings the total number of women who successfully completed GWNET’s founding to over 945.

We extend our sincerest thanks to all the mentors, mentees, partners, and supporters who have contributed to another inspiring year.
