Empowering Women in Green Hydrogen in Kenya

The Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) and GIZ is supporting women working in the green hydrogen sector in Kenya through an intensive seven-month mentoring and training programme (May-December 2026) under the Bavarian-Kenyan Green Hydrogen Cooperation Platform.

The programme aims to empower women in the green hydrogen sector in Kenya to advance their careers and accelerate a green hydrogen-supported, just energy transition. The programme offers:

  • Six months of structured mentorship with a dedicated mentor
  • In-person and virtual training modules, covering both technical subjects and soft skills
  • Peer-to-peer and mentor networking events
  • The building of a sustainable, vibrant network of Kenyan women in green hydrogen
  • Exchanges with other women in green hydrogen networks and initiatives.

The programme is open to nationals of Kenya with 2–8 years of work experience, especially women seeking leadership roles. While the focus is on women already in the green hydrogen sector, applicants working in adjacent sectors with a strong interest in green hydrogen will also be considered.
