2021 Women in Clean Cooking Mentorship Program

The Women in Clean Cooking Mentorship Program 2021, organised in partnership with the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), aimed to advance the role of women as agents of change in the clean cooking sector. Launched in February 2021, this inaugural programme brought together 30 mentees from over 16 countries across Africa and Asia, focusing on empowering women to take on leadership roles and fostering their involvement in this growing market.

Access to clean cooking stoves and fuel not only saves lives but also empowers women by protecting their health, freeing up their time, and saving money. Despite the potential for women to drive progress in the clean cooking sector, they remain underutilised in achieving policy implementation and market growth. The mentorship programme provided participants with career-advancing activities, concrete goals, and opportunities for networking and knowledge-sharing over the course of a year. Key components included bilateral interactions with senior mentors, knowledge-transfer webinars, and an online storytelling series that showcased the experiences of women in clean cooking.

About SEforALL: Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an international organization that works in partnership with the United Nations and leaders in government, the private sector, financial institutions, civil society and philanthropies to drive faster action towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) – access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030 – in line with the Paris Agreement on climate. SEforALL works to ensure a clean energy transition that leaves no one behind and brings new opportunities for everyone to fulfill their potential. Visit website: Home | Sustainable Energy for All
