Short Bio:
I am a clean energy professional based in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, with over five years of hands-on experience in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems covering system design, installation, operations, and maintenance. I am COREN-accredited as a Certified Solar PV Installer, with a strong commitment to safe, sustainable, and community-centered energy solutions. My work in the energy sector is shaped by real-world field experience. I have seen energy poverty up close especially among women and underserved communities—and this has shaped my understanding that true sustainability goes beyond installation. It requires maintenance, after-sales support, and systems that work for the people they serve. Alongside my technical work, I am deeply passionate about gender equality and inclusive participation in the energy transition. Having personally experienced bias, including being encouraged to take non-technical roles, I chose to pursue operations overcoming fear, climbing rooftops, and occupying spaces where women are often discouraged. Today, I actively advocate for increased female participation in technical roles within the energy sector. I am the Founder of Women Voice for Gender Equality Initiative (WVGEI), through which I have led over 29 STEM outreach campaigns in secondary schools, reaching more than 1,000 students. Through these engagements, I mentor young girls, share my journey in the energy sector, and encourage them to pursue careers in STEM. My work sits at the intersection of clean energy, sustainability, gender equity, and community impact. I use advocacy, speaking, and podcasting to challenge limiting narratives and promote equal opportunity. Areas I work in: – Solar PV system design, operations & maintenance – Energy access & sustainability planning – Gender equality advocacy & STEM education – Community-based energy projects & grant support I am open to collaborations, speaking engagements, consulting, and mission-aligned opportunities
