Short Bio:
CURRENT WORK SCOPE Part of the exciting Copenhagen Energy team, developing renewable energy projects around the world. Such projects include four large-scale offshore wind farms proposed off the Western Australian coast (my home state). I am primarily responsible for the sustainability and approvals scope for these developments. CURRENT RESEARCH SCOPE Researching an escalating global dilemma – the decision whether to remove, or not, end-of-life offshore infrastructure given their role as artificial habitats within the marine environment. Specifically, looking into how to evaluate the best environmental outcome between decommissioning options, ensuring decisions are informed by current and emerging scientific knowledge on the topic. CAREER OVERVIEW International Experience: Having worked for international operators and engineering consultancies, liaising with government agencies, in Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Europe, and the Middle-East, my experience encompasses the full lifecycle of offshore resources projects, from new ventures through to decommissioning, including marine and coastal facilities. Impact Assessment, Risk Management, & Project Financing: I’ve developed and implemented multiple environmental and social impact assessments, together with corresponding management plans and sustainability reports, ensuring conformance with various national and regional legislative frameworks, risk management and sustainable development standards, and international financing requirements, such as those prescribed by the World Bank Group and International Finance Corporation. Integrated Management Systems, Auditing, & Reporting: Considerable expertise developing, maintaining, and auditing cross-jurisdictional integrated management systems, together with corresponding operational procedures and sustainability reporting, utilising my broad knowledge of international management system standards, sustainable development goals and standards, and industry best practices. EDUCATION Multi-disciplinary educational background with an undergraduate degree in civil/structural engineering and a master’s degree in international environmental and marine law. INTERESTS/PASSIONS I am passionate about ensuring the world’s ocean is developed sustainably, and promoting diversity and inclusion within STEM professions.
