Short Bio:
I am a freelance Environmental Consultant, a Teaching Staff Member at the ESIT – UNIR (Escuela Superior de Ingeniería y Tecnología -Universidad Internacional de La Rioja), and a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at the UPV (Universitat Politécnica de València). I hold a BEng in Industrial Chemistry (1995) and an MSc in Environmental Engineering (2017) from the UPV. I also hold a BSc in Environmental Science and Technology (1995) and an MSc in Product Innovation and Management (1996) from MU (Middlesex University, UK). At the end of 2023, I finished my PhD with the thesis entitled “Hydropower potential for energy recovery in wastewater systems. Assessment methodology and practical application.” I have been working for over 20 years in environmental engineering and management, in various capacities within the industrial and wastewater sectors. My professional experience includes, among other environmental issues, management systems implementation and audits, GHG emissions audits, wastewater control and analysis, air emissions monitoring, industrial waste management, and environmental impact assessment. My teaching experience also covers a wide variety of industrial, environmental, and water-related topics, both in academic and business contexts, in Spanish and in English. Last year, I was recognized with the accreditation as a PhD lecturer by the ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation in Spain). The main focus of my current activity and research is on improving the sustainability of industrial and urban areas, with a particular interest in the water-energy nexus field.
