Short Bio:
Rita Chiara holds a master’s degree in Energy economics from IFP School (France) and in Sustainable Development, Geopolitics of Resources and Arctic Studies from SIOI (Italy). Before joining UNDP as Energy Specialist, Rita Chiara worked for the NGO CEFA Il seme della solidarietà within the implementation of its rural electrification project in Tanzania, at the Directorate of Financial Affairs of the French Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, and at Regulatory Affairs in the energy private sector. Currently based in Comoros, she speaks Italian, French, English, and Spanish. She is currently learning Arabic and Swahili. She also actively volunteers with NGOs and organisations in France, Morocco, and Italy to support female empowerment and unaccompanied minors. In 2019, she has been awarded of the 1st FSR “Light on Women” Scholarship.
