Short Bio:
Paula Scheidt Manoel accumulates 16 years of experience in the environmental field, with focus on climate change and renewable energy. She starts her career in 2004, as responsible for the development of the editorial content of CarbonoBrasil News Website, which were for several years one of the most important online platforms about climate change and carbon market in Brazil. In 2009, she got a fellowship to participate in the Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP) Program to do the journalistic coverage of the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen (COP 15). In 2010, Paula begins to work with international cooperation projects in the field of renewable energy at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). On the scope of her work at GIZ, from 2010 to 2016, she supports a Brazilian NGO, Ideal Institute, on the elaboration of a series of initiatives to foster solar energy in Brazil under the umbrella program “America do Sol”. As coordinator of this Program, she received the Energy Globe Award Brazil in 2014. Paula is journalist and has a master’s degree in Urbanism, History and Architecture of the City from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Currently, she is working as project manager in GIZ on the thematic of renewable energy and energy efficiency at the Project Energy Systems for the Future.
