Short Bio:
I have dedicated 13 years of my career to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), where I have gained extensive experience in various aspects of the power sector. My roles in the Substation, Grid Operation Department, Grid Division, Distribution Centre, Transmission System, and Distribution Projects have provided me with hands-on experience in substation operations, grid management, distribution system planning, and project execution. Additionally, my SARI/EI training in Power Trading Entity Design, Management, and Operation has equipped me with a deep understanding of power market dynamics and trading strategies. My academic background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Energy System Planning and Management further complements my practical experience, enabling me to contribute effectively to the energy sector. Currently, I am serving as an Electrical Engineer on the 220 kV Kathmandu Valley Transmission Project, focusing on project coordination, stakeholder engagement, contract management, and technical reporting. Previously, I led HT/LT consumer services at NEA’s Kuleshwor Distribution Centre, where I implemented loss-reduction initiatives and provided technical support. I have also completed several professional development programs, including the 6-month WePower–SAR100–2.0: South Asia Regional Infrastructure Connectivity (SARIC) training organized by Yunus Center at AIT, Bangkok, funded by the Australian Government (DFAT) and the World Bank; a 5-day training on Energy System Planning and Policy Analysis, Power Trading (USAID SARI/EI), AutoCAD (2D), Geographic Information System (GIS), Smart Metering, and Environmental & Social Safeguards (ADB). In addition to my technical role, I am also actively contributing to gender equity in the engineering field, serving as Co-Chair of the Women Welfare Committee under the Nepal Engineers’ Association, where I advocate for women’s participation and empowerment in the engineering and energy sectors.
