Short Bio:
Claudia holds a J.D from Universidad Externado de Colombia, she received an LL.M. degree in Energy, Environmental Law and International Arbitration from the University of Texas at Austin and also holds postgraduate studies in Law of the Sea and in Contracts Law-Business Relations. With over 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to Ecopetrol S.A., providing legal counsel across various strategic areas including Exploration, Production and Transportation of Oil and Gas, Power Generation Infrastructure Projects, Clean Energies as well as supporting the development of new business ventures in the United States, Brazil and Mexico. Her work includes legal advice for E & P contracts, divestitures, acquisitions, Joint Ventures, JOA´s, procurement agreements, drilling operations and oilfield services, conflict resolution and corporate governance matters, among others. She is an adjunct professor and speaker on topics such as Marine Renewable Energies Law, Unconventional Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency, the Role of NOCS´s in Energy Transition, Biofuels, Enhanced Oil Recovery Projects and Low Carbon Solutions. Claudia is passionate about promoting energy projects with a strong environmental protection focus and she is member of the Colombian Association of Petroleum and Mining lawyers, American Bar Association and International Bar Association
