Short Bio:
Usha Khatiwada is a seasoned leader with over 17 years of experience across various sectors in Nepal, specializing in strategic management, investment portfolio development, and fund management. As the former CEO of NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited, she secured investments for more than five nationally prioritized hydropower projects. Currently, Usha serves as the Component Lead for the USAID-funded Urja Project, focusing on Nepal’s energy sector. She is deeply passionate about youth and female empowerment, mentoring young professionals, and actively participating in national and international conferences as a speaker. Usha has represented Nepal on global platforms, including the USA, France, Netherlands, Korea, Japan, and more. Her advocacy for women in tech and hydropower is demonstrated through her roles as a mentor for the Women in Hydropower Mentorship Program, Global Womentech, and Girls in Tech Nepal. Usha has judged numerous hackathons and Hult Prizes and has received several prestigious awards, including the “50 Leading Lights of Asia Pacific – Kindness and Leadership” (2021), “International Diversity Role Model” (2021), and “World Changing Woman” (2020). She served as a Board of Director for the Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Project (73 MW) and is an invited member of the Capital Forum under FNCCI. Usha is also a founding member of the Nepalese Marketing Association and was honored with the Women with Hydro Vision Award at the 2023 Hydro Vision Conference in Charlotte, USA.
