Short Bio:
I am Rumbidzai Sibanda, a Master’s student in Electrical Engineering at Telkom University, Indonesia, specializing in Sustainable Energy Systems. My research focuses on developing low-cost SCADA systems for micro-hydropower plants, with a comparative study between Indonesia and Zimbabwe. Alongside my academic work, I am gaining practical experience in renewable energy and control systems through my internship with Entec Indonesia. As a Zimbabwean woman in STEM, I am passionate about advancing energy access and grid integration solutions that are both affordable and sustainable, particularly for developing regions. I believe technology innovation, coupled with strong collaboration, can accelerate the energy transition in Africa and beyond. Through GWNET, I hope to connect with women leaders in the global energy sector, contribute my perspective, and grow into a professional who drives impactful renewable energy projects across borders.
