Short Bio:
Nkatha Muthaura is a Kenyan lawyer who is passionate about solutions targeting basic unmet social concerns at the bottom of the pyramid and a firm believer of the Sustainable Development Goals.
In the past seven years, she has worked in both corporate and non-profit settings as a legal advisor and projects manager, offering support to numerous individuals. Her work experience has allowed her to explore a wide range of subjects from a global perspective while also allowing her to build critical thinking, analytical, and solution-delivery abilities.
She is passionate about the energy sector, regulation, and policy, and she is keen to critically assess and examine key legal issues in Kenya’s energy sector. She is presently the Head of Legal, Impact & Sustainability at Wecol Ltd, a renewable energy production company. Her roles focus on regulatory management, energy contract law, distribution and competition, compliance management, and renewable energy legislation. She also serves as the Director for Legal Affairs at EIMS-A Ltd.
She was a speaker at the UN Global Compact Summit in 2021, contributing to the development and implementation of creative solutions in Kenya’s renewable energy sector through new technologies, projects, and business models, as well as attaining sustainability goals in line with the SDGs.
