Short Bio:
Melania Chiponda is a renewable energy expert and feminist development practitioner, and the Director of SHINE Collab, a pan-African NGO working at the intersection of energy access, climate justice, and gender justice. Her work centres women-led, community-controlled renewable energy solutions that improve livelihoods, wellbeing, and climate resilience, while advancing a just and inclusive energy transition across Africa. Melania holds a PhD in Development Studies with a research focus on renewable energy and gender, and brings deep experience in participatory research, programme design, and cross-sector collaboration in grassroots and policy spaces.
