Short Bio:
I worked with the Centre for Impact, Evaluation and Energy Access of The Energy and Resources Institute (New Delhi, India) for about ten years. I am on Sabbatical until March 2023 and taking independent assignments. During these ten years in TERI, I led a few National and International projects on Energy Access and traveled intensively to the rural areas of India. In total, I possess about eighteen years of work experience. Within Energy Access, I especially worked extensively on clean cooking (electricity as cooking fuel, improved cookstoves), renewable energy for productive usage & lighting and rural electrification policy. I also contribute regularly on broader issues related to energy.  My PhD research from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT, New Delhi) probed into the role of state policies and private sector participation in grid interactive renewable power. During my professional life, I have published more than 25 papers/articles/book chapters (few of them in journals like Energy Policy and Current Sustainable Renewable Energy Reports). Prior to working with TERI, I worked with CAPART, New Delhi (An autonomous Institution under the Ministry of Rural Development).
