Short Bio:
I am a Development Economist and Strategic Transformation Specialist.  I have experience in developing and implementing impact investment, transformation and sustainability strategies – having consulted for both the public and private sectors on a variety of topics, including Local Economic Development; Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment; Product Innovation to address transformation; Impact Modelling and Measurement; and Strategic Management; among other topics  I have been an independent consultant in Local Economic Development, Transformation and Sustainability, for the bulk of her career.  My work involves the conceptualisation of strategy and ensuring the effective implementation thereof to ensure that her clients achieve their required development; transformation and/or sustainability outcomes – her work encompasses both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds – across all industries and an array of different impact focus areas.  My Local Economic Development work has involved the design and implementation of Economic/Community Development projects that support the renewable energy space (as part of the REIPPP initiative), the mining sector and other infrastructure projects.  She has served in an advisory role, and as an implementation partner for numerous organisations in these sectors.  My work in Sustainability been focused on assisting not-for-profit and community-based organisations work towards financial sustainability, develop monitoring and evaluation processes and impact monitoring and measurement.  I am passionate about finding ways to contribute to the African socio-economic environment – with a particular interest in multiple-stakeholder value models to drive effective transformation; efficiency theory; sustainable transformation, strategic management, impact investment and entrepreneurship.    I serve on a number of Boards and Committees in industry, and is committed to the development of Transformative Processes for South African Businesses. I am the founder and director of KD Strategies – a boutique advisory firm – and Director of WE Connect – a networking platform for Women in the Renewable Energy Industry in Africa. I was a recipient of the Nelson Mandela Economic Scholarship 2003, and participated in the Mandela Economic Scholars Programme until 2008. She has participated, as a speaker, in various conferences and seminars centred around her core focus areas.
