Short Bio:
  Giulia M Mininni’s research interests are in the areas of gender, energy and sustainability.  She is a Research Fellow in Social Relations of Energy at the Science Policy Research Unit of the University of Sussex. She is working on three projects funded by CREDS and UKERC, examining the social and policy drivers of changes at a local level aiming to reduce energy demand whilst enhancing quality of life, as part of the transition to Net Zero carbon emissions and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.  She was awarded her PhD from Keele University, and her thesis focused on a case study of the solar programme of the Barefoot College (NGO) in India working on rural women’s engagement in energy technology training to promote their empowerment. Giulia also holds an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from the University College London. Prior to her PhD she has been working for different agencies in the fields of environment and sustainability in the UK and in India. Giulia has also worked as a sustainability project officer, promoting a sustainable culture across the campus community, while completing her PhD.
