Short Bio:
Dushimirimana Elyse is a Rwandan Energy Engineer and sustainable development professional with more than 10 years of experience advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability across Africa. She currently serves as the Projects Monitoring and Evaluation Manager at Africa Energy Services Group (AESG) Ltd and is a Board Member at Genius Environmental Ltd, a Rwanda Association of Professional Environmental Practitioners (RAPEP) -certified environmental consultancy firm. Elyse’s expertise spans energy project management, clean cooking technologies, industrial energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, and air quality monitoring. She has worked with major development partners including GIZ, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the Rwanda Green Fund (FONERWA), Energy Development Company Limited (EDCL), and RES4Africa Foundation,GIZ Rwanda, supporting projects on mini-grids, productive use of renewable energy, clean cooking market development, and national energy efficiency programs. She holds a Master of Science in Electrical Power Systems and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rwanda. She has further enhanced her technical and leadership skills through numerous international trainings, including the RES4Africa Regional Executive School, the IEA–AFREC Energy Efficiency Policy Training Week, and UN Women’s Gender Equality and Global Markets programme. Elyse is deeply committed to fostering women’s participation and leadership in the energy transition, combining technical excellence with strong advocacy for gender equity and sustainability. Through GWNET, she aims to contribute to building a just, inclusive, and climate-resilient energy future for Africa driven by innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based policy.
