Short Bio:
All started during my Biology study 2007, where I slowly recognized, that researching the lifetime of worms and bacteria living on these worms is not the career I was looking for. I’m living the hands-on mentality in every part of my life and clearly the idea of combining my interests in marine biology and engineering, seemed to me a much better solution. So I changed courses and started studying Maritime Technology in 2008 in Bremerhaven, Germany. Maritime Technology is a mix of marine sciences and engineering… it is a way better feeling for me to actually see what I’ve done when it comes to my work. It’s something to grab and define and also a measurement tool for my success. After my Bachelor Thesis at IMPaC Offshore Engineeringi end of 2013, I planned to work in the Oil and Gas business (great thing to say here), to improve the offshore oil production and adding more safety to the process with adequate monitoring systems and technologies. So much to be said, plans changed with my first job offer in the renewable business. That’s where my career in Offshore Wind started and developed. From start working in 2014  as a Work coordinator and Project assistance for the Nordsee Ost OWF in the German North Sea, I made my way up to diverse client representative scopes, and troubleshooting support Offshore and further to the position as Mechanical Project Engineer  for Offshore Substations in 2015 . My fields of expertise are structural and Auxiliary equipment as for example Helidecks, Fire fighting system and Cranes. I’m responsible for the approval of the design, definition and monitoring of the supplier scope, witnessing of the Fabrication progress, the testing, commissioning and certification of those systems. After two successful Offshore wind Projects, Veja Mate, German Northsea in 2016 till end of 2017 and OWF Deutsche Bucht from 2017 until 2020, I’m now working as a freelancing engineers supporting my clients with the construction of Offshore substation. The difference now is the party I’m working for. I used to work on the client site, managing suppliers and taking care that they deliver what we’ve ordered. In my actual job right now, I work for the supplier to deliver what is agreed and expected. It’s a different approach to the same technical scope but from a different perspective which gives me the chance to extend my technical skills and knowledge.
