Short Bio:
Anita is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an electrical engineer by background, with over a decade of experience in electrical and electro-mechanical engineering. Since joining the World Bank in 2023, Anita has contributed to advisory services and analytics, as well as the preparation and supervision of energy lending operations across Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, India, and Bangladesh. Her work spans grid and off-grid investments, sector reforms, renewable energy development, and regional integration. Prior to her role at the World Bank, Anita was a design engineer at National Grid Electricity Distribution in the United Kingdom, where she designed network connections for new demand and generation plant customers on the 11kV to 132kV network, and led teams to ensure seamless project implementation. She also worked as an operations engineer with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the UK. In Uganda, Anita played a pivotal role in supervising the construction and commissioning of a 183MW hydropower plant, along with its associated substations and 132kV transmission lines. Anita holds an MSc in Electrical Power Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Planning and Management, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University, Uganda.
