Who is Proximo? What activities does your work involve?

Proximo is the leading provider for news, analysis, research, data and events to the energy, infrastructure and project finance communities. Proximo goes beyond providing your standard industry events – we exceed the educational need for the sector whilst fostering a creative environment to build our delegates’ network, advance their fundraising and gain valuable insight from their peers.

Our flagship event, Proximo Europe, remains the most forward-facing infrastructure and renewables event for the European market. Since 2020 our events have gone hybrid, receiving an even bigger global attendance. We provide an online platform where our Proximo members can be at the forefront of all the current developments, with a multitude of content, in an evolving market. This year, Proximo Europe will be back both online and in-person in Lisbon, providing the best of both worlds to our members and delegates.

What opportunities do you see to support gender equality through your work?

We see it as imperative and integral to our work to elevate women’s roles within infrastructure, energy & project finance sectors and support closing gender gaps in leadership. By highlighting women’s contributions in energy, infrastructure and finance within our media, we believe we can help shift gender biases and demonstrate women’s unique roles and perspectives within these industries.

As a first step, we have partnered with GWNET on our upcoming conference Proximo Europe 2022: Infrastructure & Renewables Finance, to be hosted in Lisbon, Portugal, this June 8th & 9th.

In addition to developing unique exposure, content and networking opportunities with GWNET at the conference, we are collaborating with the Network to elevate and provide privileged access, including speaking opportunities, to GWNET members. We are thrilled about this opportunity and look forward to utilising this conference as a template for our gender work evolution.

Why have you partnered with GWNET? What do you hope to achieve through this partnership?

We have partnered with GWNET because, first and foremost, we unequivocally support its work and mission. Gender inequities and the energy transition are two of the most pressing challenges of our time, and Proximo is an active ally to support work in these areas.

Through our partnership with GWNET, we aim to not only support the growth of the Network, advocate for their mission and provide a platform for their work – we aim to further utilise the Network’s expertise and contacts to improve the content and diversity in our news, data, and conferences.

Particularly for Proximo Europe 2022: Infrastructure & Renewables Finance, it is our goal that this partnership will set gender equity and women’s leadership as a central focus on the agenda, and further inform our audience of women’s roles and experiences with energy, infrastructure and project finance.
