Description: The virtual launch event for the publication of the study “The role of women in energy”, showcased key findings on the role of women energy experts in several countries from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and MENA.
A panel discussion followed the study discourse, where women in the sector were able to identify some of the barriers they have encountered along the way and also present some potential solutions in overcoming these hurdles.
Some of the women who took part in the study gave an insight into their experience and shared their opinion regarding women’s progress in the energy transition. Moreover, a number of women’s networks took part in the session, where they underscored the importance of networking in facilitating a speedier and inclusive energy transition.
GWNET Senior Advisor, Irene Giner-Reichl, attended the inaugural event to re-emphasize GWNET’s efforts to promote gender-sensitive action and accelerate the route to a comprehensive energy transition.
