Description: The workshop Gender Diagnosis of the Energy Sector in Albania was organised in Tirana by Expertise France (EF) – the “French public agency for the design and implementation of international technical cooperation projects.” The workshop brought together various stakeholders to discuss topics such as gender equality legislative frameworks, the current state of equality in Albania’s energy sector, energy poverty, opportunities and challenges for women’s participation in the sector, and gender awareness. The workshop also featured a presentation on the report “Gender diagnosis of the energy sector in Albania”.
As part of this event, GWNET Executive Director, Christine Lins, gave a presentation on “how to set up a national network of women in sustainable energy”, drawing from GWNET’s 2022 guide of the same name. Her presentation covered lessons learned from various women’s energy networks around the world, considerations for setting up a women’s energy network, and benefits and opportunities offered by women’s networks for gender equality in the energy sector.
