The Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) is proud to announce the 31 selected participants of the second edition of the “Empowering Central Asian Women in Renewable Energy” mentoring programme.
Similar to the first edition — which supported 30 mentees from Central Asian countries in 2022-2023 — the latest programme is led by GWNET in partnership with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The initiative aims to advance women’s careers in the region’s renewable energy sector, whilst also addressing gender imbalances in the energy sphere. The programme is part of the OSCE project on “Promoting women’s economic empowerment in the energy sector for energy security and sustainability in Central Asia”.

From July 2024 to March 2025, the 31 participants will engage in one-on-one mentoring sessions as well as workshops and training sessions, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to play a pivotal role in the energy transition. Participants are paired with mentors who corresponds with their individual career aspirations. The programme also offers a study tour to Vienna.
