Short Bio:
I am an early-career Electrical Engineer and sustainable energy professional from Lesotho, with practical experience in energy management and power systems within the telecommunications sector. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and am completing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy, with my research focused on AI-enhanced hybrid renewable energy and energy storage systems for Lesotho. My academic and professional experience has exposed me to energy management, renewable energy integration, energy planning and policy, energy forecasting, and the application of emerging technologies to sustainable energy systems. Through my work and research, I have developed a strong interest in supporting the transition towards more resilient, inclusive and sustainable energy systems, particularly in developing countries. As a young woman working in a traditionally male-dominated technical environment, I have also developed a strong interest in the participation, visibility and advancement of women in engineering and the energy sector. My own professional experiences have strengthened my belief that the energy transition requires not only technological innovation, but also greater opportunities for women to contribute as engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs and decision-makers. As I am still at an early stage of my career, I am particularly interested in learning from experienced women in the energy sector, expanding my professional network, and building my capacity to contribute meaningfully to sustainable energy and gender-responsive development initiatives in Lesotho and beyond. I hope to use the GWNET platform to learn, collaborate and grow while also contributing my perspective as a young woman and emerging energy professional from the Global South.
