GWNET is excited to share the selected participants for the first two regional mentoring programmes for Latin American Countries (LAC) as well as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The programmes are sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) as part of its bilateral energy partnerships with the selected countries. GWNET has received 120+ applications from women working in sustainable energy in Algeria, Brazil, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco and Tunisia.

Each of the selected mentees will be matched with a hand-picked mentor with whom they will engage in a bilateral exchange between November 2019 and June 2020; this matchmaking is done on the basis of their career aspirations stipulated in the application form. In parallel, knowledge-transfer webinars on energy and personal development topics will be organised for the mentee cohort to stimulate growth. Out of the 45 mentees, a selection of 20 will be invited to a study tour to Germany during the week of 25 – 29 November.
