Description: The Viennahydro 2022 was held in Vienna in November, with the mission to “provide a platform to exchange experience and enable open-minded discussion.”
During the conference, GWNET co-founder, Barbara Fischer-Aupperle, chaired a panel under the title International Hydropower Initiatives. This panel aimed to shine a spotlight on sustainable hydropower implementation and gender in the sector. The aim was to show that modernisation on all levels and diversity within the sector are urgently needed to enable hydropower to be part of the solution in the future de-carbonisation of the globe.
The panel also shared early findings from the upcoming Gender in Hydropower report, which highlights the current status of gender within the sector.
