Description: The Third Dialogue on Climate Action and Women, focused on The transition to just and low-carbon economies and new gender-transformative development models was organised by the Foundation EU-LAC and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The goal of the inter-regional dialogue was to “to identify common obstacles and opportunities and to bring to the fore good practices and innovative solutions that will enable progress towards gender equality and women’s empowerment in Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction. The dialogues aim to inform decision-makers about promising interventions and practices that have the potential to being upscaled and to strengthen bi-regional cooperation programmes and public policies.”
As part of this dialogue, GWNET Executive Director, Christine Lins, took part in a dialogue with other experts, where they discussed the challenges for women in the green transition, good practices and policies to ensure gender equality in the green sector, and how to design a gender-just and gender-transformative green development agenda.
