Description: The ESP Stakeholder Forum & 8th ESP Partners Meeting was held in Seoul in December, organised by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), the World Bank, the Korea Green Growth Trust Fund, and the Korea Battery Industry Association. The forum brought together representatives of the private sector and World Bank client countries to share their energy storage experiences and present the latest energy storage technologies.
On the third day of the Forum, GWNET Communications Manager, Davina Ngei, took part in a panel on gender in energy storage, together with World Bank Gender Specialist, Nathyeli Acuna, and two “Women in Energy Storage” mentees – Fatima Hijab and Lydia Kwamboka. This session highlighted the opportunities and challenges for women in the energy storage field, outlined the motivations behind the “Women in Energy Storage mentoring program“, and heard success stories from the two mentees.
The forum also involved two days of site visits to leading energy storage players (private and public sector) around the country, including battery testing facilities, substations, recycling plants, and electric vehicle charging companies.
