Description: The GIZ Energy Programme in Central America together with regional partners, SICA and CECACIER organized a Gender Event for the Central American energy sector.

The goals of this event centred on sharing success stories in promoting gender equality in the energy sector, with participants getting the opportunity to shed light on the importance of a network support mechanism as well as opportunities for the region.

GWNET Senior Advisor, Irene Giner-Reichl, emphasized GWNET’s efforts in promoting gender-sensitive action that is a prerequisite in cultivating an inclusive and fair energy transition. Furthermore, Irene elaborated on how GWNET continues to work toward this objective via the mentoring and advocacy channels, where our “Women For Sustainable Energy: Strategies to Foster Women’s Talent For Transformational Change” Study is predominant.

With this event, GWNET continues its efforts in advocating for equal inclusion in the energy transition and promoting the numerous benefits of achieving such a target.
